I studied the design of semiconductors. I interviewed after graduation, but I received one offer only. The tech bubble had burst, and chip companies had left or were leaving the Boston area. Competition was fierce for just a few advertised jobs. Without this offer, I would have returned to Mauritius, or tried a PhD.
